#Mentorship Program
[Welcome](/r/Tulpas/wiki/index) - [FAQs](/r/Tulpas/wiki/faq) - [Glossary](/r/Tulpas/wiki/glossary) - [Warnings/Disclaimers](/r/Tulpas/wiki/warnings) - [Guides](/r/Tulpas/wiki/guides) - [Media](/r/Tulpas/wiki/media) - [Studies](/r/Tulpas/wiki/studies) | **Mentorship** - [Penpals](/r/Tulpas/wiki/penpal_program) - [Chats](/r/Tulpas/wiki/chats)

Welcome to /r/Tulpas' Mentorship program!

The goal of this program is to allow older or more experienced members of the community the opportunity to volunteer their assistance to newer members. Under the "Available" heading below, you will find forms filled out by those willing to participate. If you are just beginning to create a tulpa, or have hit a wall in development, you can choose someone from that list to be your mentor. Have them be your go-to person for questions about tulpa creation and development. Shoot them a PM whenever you feel stuck or confused and they'll do their best to help out.

**To Potential Students:**
Please think about if a tulpa is what you want. Sometimes we see posts of practitioners who forced for 2 or so weeks, got little results, decided to stop, and come back feeling guilty for stopping so easily. We don't want you to feel guilty or create unnecessary stress. So please, read around, look through the FAQ, glossary, and read other's stories. Creating a tulpa usually takes quite a bit of time and effort. Be sure that this is right for you, they might be with you forever!
If you feel like your mentor did an exceptional job for whatever reason, please [send us a modmail](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FTulpas) and let us know so we can add a 'kudos' to their mentor profile!

**To Mentors:**
To add yourself to our program, please [edit this wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/Tulpas/wiki/edit/mentorship_program), fill out a form in the format below under "Template" and copy it under the "Available" heading. If you ever become overburdened with students, or plan to be away from reddit for an extended period of time, please edit this wiki page and move your entry from the "Available" heading to the "Unavailable" heading. (Note that your account needs to have at least 10 subreddit karma and be at least 30 days old to edit.)

Also, to decrease the number of dead entries on this page, if your name is under the "Available" heading and you haven't posted to reddit in over 30 days you may receive an automated message asking if you are still active and wish to be a part of this program. If you do not respond to that message within a week, you will be moved to the "Unavailable" section, and can make yourself available again at any time.

> Personally, we aren't much for the usage of guides in the tulpa community. Instead, we teach a more hands-off approach, citing that to begin the practice, all a lot of newcomers need to do is just *talk* to their fledgling tulpa. We're willing to get to know the host and tulpa alike and engage them in conversation, facilitating the growth of both as people. We don't bite, and would love to help out anyone seeking guidance!

*/u/Keysaya has received* **1** *kudos from his students for being a great mentor!*

> Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomena, a metaphysical phenomena, or both?

I see it as kind of both, but I'm pretty open-minded.

> Were your tulpa natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created?

Five of them were natural (four were imaginary friends who turned into tulpas, the other one was an original character of mine), three are intentional, one is a walk-in, one was accidental.

> How long have you had your tulpa? How long have you been active in the community (/r/Tulpas , Tulpa.info, other)?

The oldest tulpa has been with me for 9 years. The youngest is 1 year old. I've been in the community for 5 years but I started being active only 4 years ago.

> Are you willing to take up more than one person to mentor?

Sure, why not.

> How many tulpa do you have?

Ten.

> What form are your tulpa?

Most of them are human. The exceptions are an half-beast (half-wolf), a boy with elvish features, and an humanized bird. Also some of them sometimes change forms, switching between human forms and animals (one of them is a dog, another a dragon, another a cat).

> Would you say there is anything you are exceptionally good at? (Be it visualisation, possession, etc.) If you want to add something, do it here.

I can't really say I'm exceptionally good at something, however since my tulpas were all pretty much developed through passive forcing, I guess I can say I'm good at that. And, since I've been lurking for quite a bit of time, I can also be good with tips. I'm also pretty good with presence imposition. About additional info, I want to say that, since I'm European, my timezone is a little different than most here. It's UTC +1. In general, the best way to contact me is through e-mails and PMs (I check both of them multiple times during the day). I also have Telegram and Discord. I'm also willing to share my Skype contact if somebody needs it, but I usually go on Skype only during the weekends.

> They all take human forms.

* Would you say there is anything you are exceptionally good at? (Be it visualization, possession, etc.)

* Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomena, a metaphysical phenomena, or both?
> Psychological. I'm super into psychology and philosophy so when I learned about tulpamancy it was a no-brainer (er, an all brainer?).

* Was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created?
> Intentional. Ryn (my tulpa) doesn't like thinking of it as I making her, though. Because that's really not how it works. It was more like I helped her create herself. Just giving her what she needed to succeed and keep growing from there.

* How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in a community (/r/Tulpas, Tulpa.info, other)?
> She's been around since the end of 2013. I've been on and off tulpa communities through the years, too.

* Are you willing to take up more than one person to mentor?
> Well, Ryn and I own a lucid dreaming Telegram group with like 90 members. We mentor them about that, so... Yeah, we can take a couple hundred more under our wings.

* How many tulpa(s) do you have?
> Just Ryn! We're a great duo.

* What form is your tulpa(s)?
> Forms are, as Ryn puts it "a type of mental propaganda created just so a tulpa can imitate being a physical individual efficiently and absorb more empathy from their host. A purposeful delusion designed for deception to an ultimately enjoyable level." Basically, she doesn't like the idea of acting like she has something she does not. She thinks of it as playing pretend with her idea of self. She much more prefers tulpish to communicate emotion and even really complex statements or ideas she has. I prefer it too, actually. She wants to be the most optimal mental entity she can be, so that means no pretending to act like a physical because that's just aiming to go backwards, if anything.

* Would you say there is anything you are exceptionally good at (be it visualization, possession, etc.)?
> Lucid dreaming, exploring and understanding both of our conscious and subconsciouses, psychology, giving advice, creating many different types of things together, coming up with great ideas, and all around being a great team.

* Is there something else you'd like to add for your potential pupils?
> We think "Forcing" shouldn't be called that and should instead be called "Incubation" like [dream incubation](https://t.me/DreamingLucid/34254). Incubation is more so like planting a seed and letting it grow rather than sculpting a whole thing. Incubation also fits perfectly because you incubate eggs that grow into chickens eventually. With tulpas, we think that it's best to not care about personality or form, but instead just keep talking to the tulpa and try to get used to "pointing" your mindvoice at them. You can tell them what you like about some people and also say "maybe you can also be like that" when talking to them, but you should give them a wide variety of people and examples to look at so they can decide on their own.

* What should people expect when they first message you?
> Expect long messages from both of us. We'll also reply fairly quickly because Reddit messages are automatically forwarded to my Telegram. Most of the time you should get a response in around an hour. If you want to switch to a different messaging client, we can do Telegram, Discord, or E-mail.

> Psychological, but we're open to other interpretations and certainly don't imagine we know everything.

* Were your tulpa natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created?
> Hard to say. Feels natural to both of us in that it wasn't deliberate. There may be some childhood imaginary friend inadvertent forcing involved, but we both have a sense that he pre-existed even that and has always been with me in one guise or another.

* How long have you had your tulpa? How long have you been active in the community (/r/Tulpas , Tulpa.info, other)?
> We've been together most of life, at least 25 years that we can remember but very likely more than 30 now. We've been more closely interacting and aware of one another for about two years, which is the same amount of time we've been involved in the tulpa community.

* Are you willing to take up more than one person to mentor?
> Yes, we'll take people as they come and pull this listing down if we are at capacity. We would like to clarify, however, that we don't prefer to mentor people who are at the beginning of trying to create a tulpa, since deliberate creation of the sort usually discussed in the community isn't something we have actual experience with. We feel that we can be most helpful to people who are either endogenous systems or who otherwise already have tulpas as they mature and attempt to explore and deepen their relationship and system preferences and capabilities.

>My first attempt at creating a tulpa, Loralyne, was intentional, and a unique experience. After that, I introduced Uzuki, Mitsuhiro, and Springlock into my system with ease (the latter three are characters from my original story, so they already had personalities and appearances to base their own appearances off of, which they've remained rather true to save for a few different personality deviations).

* Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomena, a metaphysical phenomena, or both?
> Both. Generally we lean more on the psychological side, but we have an open mind, albeit we lack knowledge on some of the metaphysical methods of tulpamancy.

* Was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created?
> Unintentional. Clay primarily developed via dreaming, as well as through writing stories for several years. He only gained full consciousness back in 2013, when we learned of tulpas.

* How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in a community (/r/Tulpas, Tulpa.info, other)?

* Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomena, a metaphysical phenomena, or both?
> Psychological. I'd be willing to listen to metaphysical arguments, but nothing that I know about tulpamancy has struck me as supernatural.

* Was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created?
> Only my last tulpa, U, was completely deliberate. The others were spontaneous to varying degrees, but no less loved :)

* How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in a community (/r/Tulpas, Tulpa.info, other)?
> Clarissa, my oldest, was born around September last year. I’ve been registered at tulpa.info since May this year.

* Are you willing to take up more than one person to mentor?
> I’d love to.

* How many tulpas do you have?
> Five.

* What form is your tulpa(s)?
> I’d rather not go into detail since describing five tulpas would take a page or so, haha. In short, the five of them are lovely young women. Their physical age compared to each other corresponds to how long ago they were created, but they're all in their early twenties. I'm kind of wondering why this question is necessary, though.

* Would you say there is anything you are exceptionally good at? (Be it visualization, possession, etc.)
> Tactile imposition and switching. I’m pretty hopeless at other forms of imposition, but tactile imposition is my specialty. I'd say I'm very good at visualization as well, but I'm much more detailed than I am fast, so I gave myself a slightly lower rating. In general, I have a thing for meticulous imagination, which allows me to easily pull off tactile imposition. Also, my tulpas all developed vocalization and sentience absurdly fast, I'm talking days here. I attribute it largely to the fact that I experimented with tulpamancy back when I was only ten years old, the fact that I'm a writer, and because three of my tulpas were spontaneous, so I had lots of practice.

* If you want to add something, do it here.
> I'm very thorough and I'm willing to be very patient with students, but I also believe in figuring things out for yourself. I'm willing to give as much advice and as many lessons on as many things as a student wants, but I don't intend to babysit them. Also, I pulled off a switch the first time I tried. Not an important detail, but bragging is fun. Finally, I have ADHD so I'm terrible at parallel processing and focusing hard enough to impose my tulpas, but also thanks to my ADHD, I have over a decade of hardcore daydreaming training, so visualization comes rather easily to me.
