(...) [10:10 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: nice. [10:10 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: I still really need to work out a sona of my own... [10:17 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: I've had quite a few ideas, but I had one recently that's been... sticking, around. A lizardfolk who lives in a server-farm, living of the heat of the servers he runs. That idea sparked another worldbuild-y idea, of how, in a world where lizardfolk and humans somehow co-existed, they'd be bringing server-infrastructure with them to colder climates, as they start to move out of warmer climates, into more nordic ones. Most of them wouldn't really care about what the servers were doing, as long as they were generating as much heat as possible and, a sustainable income. Hence; Cryptocurrencies! [10:20 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: I like the idea of playing with body-heat, especially with lizards (BeTeDubz; read "The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms" Chapter 4, incredibly wholesome gay lizard luv) to incentivise cuddles [10:24 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: but yeah, I'd love some comments on this, even though it's not porn [10:24 PM] boxesoftacos: that's an interesting idea [10:24 PM] boxesoftacos: i like it [10:26 PM] boxesoftacos: a thoughtful concept [10:26 PM] boxesoftacos: with good execution [10:26 PM] boxesoftacos: i dig it [10:35 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: Yeah, I really want to put some world-building behind it. Make it feel alive. A well told page or so with every illustrated piece, or maybe even a comic to two.

[10:48 PM] Dovah // 0xBA5E64: (moving this out of #the-dungeon ) @boxesoftacos If you don't mind me indulging in this for a second,

I immediately imagine it as something like an TyrArt style living-space illustration: https://twitter.com/Tyrs1braincell/status/1303701978917277700

With him, something like a Nagabe/sisigui_4649-style lanky lizard (genuinely can't express just how much I absolutely love this body) https://twitter.com/sisigui_4649/status/1218518489918402560

Yet with a slightly longer, dexterous tail.

[10:27 PM] The Amazing Steak with da blanky: If it a sona for yourself: your lizardfolk has always had an interest in data hording, so after a certain amount of time he gave into his interest and started benevolently tappy tap tapping into the server for his own amusement/entertainment [10:29 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: I'd imagine the interest would've developed over time, as he'd basically lock himself up in his lil-datacenter. I'd like some art of him just homely laying in the middle of it all, taking a calm, nice nap, like this; https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/655882199773610004/780545672642297876/bonus02_small.jpg ```

[2020-11-25, First "Real" Version: "Pfff, here goes;"]

"A (story of a) lizardfolk who lives in a server-farm, living of the heat of the servers he runs."

Prelude: (or something, I don't know how writing works eagagGH)

In a world where lizardfolk and humans co-exist, these reptiles, as they move out of warmer climates, brought server-infrastructure with them to colder, into more Nordic ones. Most of them not really caring about what the servers were doing, as long as they were generating as much heat as possible and, sustainable income. All of this, kicking off with the 20XX's Internet boom. With the news of Facebook & Google shaking the world, investors are scrambling to invest in this hot new trend, and these lizardfolk, who've previously worked many jobs from heated homes, seem like the prime subjects to be managing these massive datacenters of glorified space-heaters. But, as time goes on, and with servers get more and more efficient, our scaled compatriots are forced to come up with more and more elaborate ways of getting these hoomans to invest their warming-cash into these now lizard dens, a golden egg is hatched;

"Are you sure this investment will flip in our favour?" "why yes-sss, of course" "...well, okay. I could never in good conscious say no to that smile" "Ahw, ples-sssure doing business with you this-sss fine day"

Thus, the birth of the most heat-inefficient, largest scale private, and corporate 20XX's endeavor began: Cryptocurrencies

FOLLOWING CHAT [11:23 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: (also @Mel since you're awake, you might be interested) [11:24 PM] Mel: Well, still, not a scalie. [11:24 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: nah but, book: lite edition [11:25 PM] Mel: Fuckn' readin's gay. [11:25 PM] Mel: But just for you. [11:26 PM] Mel: You can tell a story about how because the power cut out a bunch of them are trapped and people have to save them untill they freeze to death. [11:28 PM] Mel: And like, either explore the psyche behind being literally trapped in a box and waiting to die, or you can do a survivle where the characters survive in creative ways, like idk pulling out all the hard drives and somehow keeping the heat from them. [11:29 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: Even from their perspective, getting backup power on in time. [11:29 PM] Mel: Or tell a story of lizzard trafficers that basically use them as free labour and force them to work there, otherwise they'll be kicked out and forced to die. [11:30 PM] Mel: Maybe a slice of life story would be better first to establish how would the day of a lizzard look first. [11:30 PM] Mel: Then like move on to other characters and tell their story. [11:32 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: on both of those latter ones, yeah. I'm interested in the idea behind the whole, "what's in it for them" angle too. For now, I've had the idea of the centers possibly being given away to them, as their permanent living spaces (in exchange, the companies pay for essentials, but they're not payed outside of that), and, once they're not hired anymore, lizards try to come up with enticing new startups to keep their places running and profitable. [11:34 PM] Mel: Maybe a big wig or two decides "they're bad for muh economy" and tries to get rid of em. [11:35 PM] Mel: Maybe some of them are factory workers in and work with hot metal all day. [11:35 PM] Mel: Wait, would they breathe fire or not? [11:37 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: Nah, these are standard lizards. [11:37 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: Might look into dragons later, but they just seem like they'd kill off humans quite quickly [11:38 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: lizardfolk, are a bit more equal to humans, and so conflict should be managable [11:40 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: But yeah, the whole "let's send datacenters out with lizards in them into Nordic countries to run forever" thing can't last forever, so I imagine he'd maybe be a relic of that flash-trend of maybe 2-3 years, upholding his center independently, running different startups himself. [11:41 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: That'd be really fun actually, since It'd give me a good, in-universe excuse for making fake company logos and stuff!! [11:41 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: "Introducing Mail-a-Gator" [11:42 PM] Mel: You are exctremely enthusiastic for this. [11:42 PM] Mel: I'm happy for you. [11:42 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: Well, I've had a few of these ideas on me for quite some time, and I really want to do something with them [11:43 PM] Dovah.blanky [0xBA5E64]: I can't really draw well enough to explain it so far, but talking and writing it down is at least a lot more approachable.
